You don’t need any other excuse than “just because” to send someone special a card!! Check out this SUPER cute card I created tonight showcasing the By My Side Stampin’ Up cling stamp set!!

I have barely begun my card-making journey so I’ve not even scratched the surface of practice and technique and I feel super proud of this one! I think when you have the right tools you have greater success and that leads to growing and becoming even BETTER as time goes on! Let me share with you how absolutely simply this card was to create!

I used my Stampin’ Up paper trimmer to cut a card base that was 5.5 x 4.25 inches. It’s easy peasy because you can just lay a standard 8.5. x 11 piece of cardstock in sideways and align it with the 5.5 and voila! You have TWO card bases! Now, the reason I would recommend you using the Stampin’ Up trimmer is this sweet tool has a SCORING tool along with that sharp blade! See below for a BEEEE-utiful scoreline right in the middle of the card base.

Now that you have your base, you’ll want to stick a white piece of cardstock inside the card for a blank notecard to write your card notes and sign. I’ve written the measurements for your convenience in the photo. 🙂 You can use a tape adhesive or a liquid glue to put your card together. Stampin’ Up carries BOTH!

Let’s get started with the exciting world of DIE-CUTTING! Oh yes, we have utilized some deckled rectangle frames (the two largest in the set) and also a small stitched rectangle for our sentiment piece.

For this die-cut I did need to use my full-size Stampin’ Up Cut and Emboss machine. Follow the directions on the plates to know how to sandwich that die in with the paper and crank the handle to create that beautiful finish! Side note: There is also a mini Stampin’ Up Cut and Emboss machine and I use it constantly for the smaller dies I have. It’s more lightweight and easier to maneuver on my desktop. Both of them are used daily with my projects! (HINT: if you want a discount, check into becoming a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator)

And here is the finished cut for the stitched rectangle die. I simply cut it out of the middle of my Granny Apple Green paper as it will get covered up in the finished card and it saves paper! SUPER TIP: Don’t throw any scrap away! It can be USED somewhere somehow someway some day! 😉

I chose the Life Is Better With Friends Like You sentiment that comes in the By My Side stamp set and I used a clear block C as it fit just perfectly. I stamped my sentiment onto my green stitched small rectangle.

Take care of your stamps and they will last a loooooong time! I recommend our Stampin’ Mist cleaner and what you see in the background is the COOLEST stamp cleaner pads I’ve ever seen! One side is for the Stampin’ Mist cleaner and the other is a dry area to “scrub” dry the stamps! Works like a CHARM and no mess!
Next we need to get the piece we will be using to stamp the ladies on! It’s a basic white cardstock piece that I’ve cut using the second largest deckled rectangle die.

Now, I am ready to stamp these precious gals onto that piece of Basic White card stock I used a clear block E here because I wanted to stamp both gals at the same time so I could ensure they were even and right where I wanted them placed. Smart, eh? I thought so! If you’re wondering about these clear blocks, Stampin’ Up has different sizes to choose from. You can buy them individually if you like. One will come with your Paper Pumpkin subscription as part of the kit for free! 😀 Or you can go “all in” and purchase the whole set so you have every single block Stampin’ Up has! I have the set and they even have a nifty case you can purchase separately to keep them safely in!

I don’t have the “best” photo of that, but I’ll show ya below. The catalog would be the best place to check it out. Don’t HAVE a catalog yet?? Well, please do request one! I’d be happy to send a catalog your way!! 🙂 Okay! Back to the card!

Eeeee! My scariest but favorite part! I’m NO colorist! I am the most judgy of my coloring skills because I dream of being able to color like the gals I see in those YouTube videos! Ahhh, I wasn’t born to be an artist at all. THANKFUL to Stampin’ Up for creating these Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers! AMEN! I tell you, these come in a light and dark of each color! You are set up not to mess up! 😀 The blending is exceptional! I get better every time I pick up one of these beauties! I promise you will, too!! I used a bunch of colors because I LOVE bright colorful cards! So… *drum roll*… Revealing the colored version…… NOW!

Isn’t it SO SUPER SWEET!!?? I’m inlove with this and it took me no more than an hour to do every single step from start to finish!! LESS than, even! So if you need a card super quick, I’d recommend taking up this stampin’ hobby! You’ll have cards galore to choose from in NO time! 😀 Thank you SO much for hanging with me and allowing me to share a bit of my excitement and fun with crafting! It is ALWAYS better with friends along the journey! That’s why I’m so grateful to my Stampin’ Up team, fellow demonstrators, and YOU!! 😀 If you’d like more info on the products used, becoming a demonstrator, or ANYTHING, simply send me an email to wildflowerblessings72@gmail.com and I’d be happy to chat!
